Keeping Glare off of your Samsung Galaxy Tab, Archos 70 or BlackBerry Playbook

Ever try to read a book on your tablet PC while on the beach?  Not too easy, is it?  The glare from the sun wipes out the screen and makes it quite difficult to see what you are reading.  Sure, you can block it with one hand while holding it with the other, but that makes it difficult to pick up a drink, doesn’t it?

Using your tablet as a GPS can also be difficult because of glare.  A prior article on the MountGuys Blog discussed how to control glare on your GPS.  Based upon our reading statistics, it was a pretty popular article.  So we figured we needed to get one out there for tablets.

Take a look at our picture.  These handy add-ons are simply to attach to your tablet.  Easy to put on and take off.  And best of all, one hand is now free for a drink!

Samsung Galaxy Tab Does GPS Too

We think the Samsung Galaxy Tab is a very exciting entry within the tablet market.  Based upon the number of inquiries and sales generated by these devices, the popularity is not too far behind the Apple iPad.

We really feel sorry for GPS manufacturers lately.  These tablets have very robust GPS capabilities that rival the latest units from Garmin, TomTom and other manufacturers.  Combined with Google maps, the Samsung Galaxy Tab makes a great big screen GPS.  We remember spending over $1000 on a Garmin StreetPilot 7500 around five years ago.  It’s really amazing to see the technology advances in this space.

Using your Samsung Galaxy Tab or Apple iPad on an Airplane

Sitting in cattle class?  Don’t like the movie they are showing (or don’t want to shell out $5 for the movie)?  Use your iPad or Tab!

Great idea.  The problem is after 15 minutes of holding the device your arm gets tired.  A stand would be nice.

Every time we think we have seen it all for the iPad and Tab, another new concept comes out.  We started our line with three different mounts.  Now we have over twenty.  This one is quite innovative in that it folds up to the size of a skinny stapler and then unfolds to hold your device.  This makes it very easy to carry and off the plane.

Try one.  They will make that long flight seem much shorter.

These will also work for the Blackberry Play Book.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Car Mount Options

The Samsung Tab is an excellent tablet PC that will rival the iPad in terms of functionality at a potentially lower cost of ownership.  The tablet PCs make excellent GPS units.  They also are tremendously useful for watching movies in the car and keeping backseat passengers entertained.  We also find there are some excellent golf apps that run on Android so your Tab might make a terrific golf partner.

There are a lot of choices for mounting your Tab in the car.  We show a few choices.  The mounts for the Tab share the same expandable cradle as the iPad.  Although the pictures may show an iPad, these were the only devices available at time of publishing this blog post.  Dont’ worry though, these mounts will fit your Samsung Tab as well.
