Car and Motorcycle Mounts for the Apple iPad Mini Part I

Apple’s announcement of the new iPad Mini brings a smaller tablet to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Kindle Fire and others in the 7″ diagonal space.  Measuring 7.87 inches x 5.3 inches and only .28 inches deep, this tablet features a larger 7.9″ screen versus the competition.  Ever try to hold the iPad in one hand for a long time?  Not easy to do.  This weighs only 11 ounces and fits nicely in one hand.  The iPad Mini will feature Apple’s new lightening adapter.

This is Part I of a series on mounting what will be a very popular device.  It always takes the manufacturers a few months to make custom cradles, so until then there are some excellent universal cradle mounts which will hold your Apple iPad Mini quite securely.  Some prefer a universal mount as it can be used a few years from now when Apple announces their new Apple iPad Mini 2 – and you know they will!

As always, we present some nice options for consideration.  Look for our follow up with custom mounting solutions when they are available.

Vehicle Mounts for your New Apple iPad 3 Part I

New iPad.  iPad 3.  We’re not sure what to call it.  We don’t have one yet, and you probably don’t either.  What we do know is that the size is very close to the Apple iPad 2.  The width and length is the same, but the thickness is very slightly smaller and it weighs a little less.  We think that the custom cradles we carry for the iPad 2 will work, but we aren’t going to suggest them until we can test it with a real iPad 3 (new iPad, whatever).

We have already received inquiries into the mounts so figured it was time for a blog post.

We do have some excellent spring loaded cradle mounts that we know will fit the device well, with and without a case.  We will write another post in a few weeks when we can get our hands on a real live device and test it out.

We present a few of the mounting kits we know will fit well below.

Finally a Good Desk Mount for your Cool Stuff

Using your iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab or any tablet in your home for entertainment purposes just got easier.  Holding your iPad while watching a movie in bed is almost impossible.  Finally, a solution is available which eliminates the “hold your tablet on your chest and don’t fall asleep” syndrome.

Armed with articulating joints at the base and tip, a clamp for attaching to any flat surface like a table, counter or nightstand and a swivel feature, these metal mounts are extremely well made and will provide lots of enjoyment.  Add a remote to your tablet and you basically have a TV at your bedside or desk side!

Apple iPad Car Mounts

Why would you want to use your Apple iPad in the car?  There are a lot of reasons.  Best one is that it makes a great GPS.  Many of the GPS apps from your iPhone will also work on the iPad.  We like the MotionX GPS Drive app.  Low cost and full features.  When used on your iPad, you have one of the largest and crisp GPS displays made!

We also like it for back seat passengers.  Movies are great on the iPad.  Coupled with the Netflix streaming feature, watch movies or TV shows.  You can also read the paper, do a book, and soon, live TV.
