PBA shields seem to be a New Jersey thing. If you’re lucky enough to have a close relative that’s a cop, they grant a limited number of shields to display in your windshield. Supposedly if you ever get pulled over, the officer sees the magic shield, tells you to be careful, and gives consideration to you that a non-shield holder would not receive.
